Prey (2022) is a great film and one that should have been seen in a theatre. However, Prey (2022) was only released via online streaming. It is truly a thrilling experience to see it with the Native American dub. The director Dan Trachtenberg is excited to showcase his collection of modern visual ideas with solid choreography. It perfectly matches the survivalist sensibility in the original movie. This film is far removed from John McTiernan's classic flair and the disturbing sensations that the original work elicited. The movie is full of ethereal images of forest scenes, and both the soundtrack and sound design add to the feeling of being completely immersed. Amber Midthunder plays Naru in the movie. Her performance is almost entirely wordless. Her facial emotions and quick gestures set the (link to info) pace and rhythms for the whole film, from the opening scene all the way up to the climactic clash in the third act. What a horrifying and horrible film! It's fantastic to see the Predator making a significant comeback.
